Red and Black Gala Dinner and Convention Awards

Saturday, March 23 6:30 p.m.

The culmination of the 2013 Sigma Tau Delta Convention is the Red and Black Gala.  This festive, tasty, and exciting event occurs on the last night of the convention to celebrate the finale of several days of academic discourse, stimulating speakers, informative workshops, and entertaining activities. The Red and Black Gala is a catered sit-down dinner with two delicious entrees from which to choose. After dessert, we hold an Awards Ceremony at which we announce the recipients of several awards and announce winners of the numerous cash awards for convention papers and creative works. Gala attendees are encouraged to wear the Society's colors, red and black, and/or to wear honor cords.

Gala Dinner Tickets Must Be Paid For When You Register

The fee for the Gala Dinner on Saturday evening ($20) is separate from the convention registration fee and must be paid when you register. The Gala will feature a sit-down dinner with two main course options: chicken or vegetarian. Please indicate your preference at time of registration. The total cost to register for the convention and attend the Gala Dinner is the same as last year; however, the fees for convention registration and the Gala Dinner are separate to accommodate those who cannot stay through Saturday evening. Should you have a specific question, contact englishconvention@niu.edu.
